Welcome to  the New Jersey  Fire Prevention & Protection Association.  The Association was established in 1962 to provide a serve to the Fire Service as a state level organization addressing fire safety issues.

Our association membership is being comprised of Fire Marshals, Fire Inspectors, Construction Officials, Sub-Code Officials, Construction Inspectors, individuals and companies in the construction and fire protection fields, Firefighters, fire safety educators, appointed or elected officials, and private citizens currently certified or licensed as an Official or Inspector.

Our main objective is to provide information on fire safety and fire protection to all interested parties and to be active in the legislative and regulatory process.

In addition to networking with our member throughout the State; we are also an active Chapter of both the International Code Council and the International Fire Marshals Association.

Our Association has had a rough couple of past years, as have other organizations, but we are in the processes of rebuilding, however we are still active with the following services:

Our Executive Board, which is comprised of the operations officers elected by the membership and the President of each County Association which meets every month to determine progress on meeting our goals.

Run education programs for our members which we have been associated with the Multi County Fire Training Session.

Participate with the NJDCA Division of Codes & Standards Building Safety Week Conference and Present an award to the Fire Protection Inspector of the Year during the luncheon.

Coordinate the Annual State Fire Safety Poster Contest along with the Division of Fire Safety.

In the past we have hosted or participated in events, and hope to bring them back:

Host an Annual Awards Dinner to honor the Fire Prevention Inspector of the Year, the Fire Safety Program of the Year and the Legislator of the Year.

Award two (2) college scholarships to students in memory of John A. Jennette.

Host a luncheon for the Annual Poster contest winners, their families and educators.

Have members that sit on various councils and committees at the State level that deal with laws, regulations, and planning issues addressing fire and life safety throughout the State.  Some of our members also participate on the National/International level on code development.

Have two (2) general membership meeting each year in Atlantic City.  One during Building Safety Week and one during the League of Municipalities Conference.

Provide sponsorship to the NJ Fire Safety Commission meeting that is held during the League Conference and also sponsor two (2) panel discussions on topics of interest to our membership.

We are continually searching for additional venues to participate in that will be beneficial to our membership or the general public in the interest of fire and life safety.

We look forward to the rebuilding and becoming a strong Association again.
